WordPress Training Course

We are excited to now be offering our very own WordPress Training course.

So many people have said how they have always wanted to build their own website, but not known quite where to start !  With our new WordPress training course, you will start right from the beginning and create your own website !

During the course you will:

• Have your own control panel login to your website hosting area 
• Install WordPress from scratch
• Design the structure of your pages on your own, or by using premade templates
• Create easy to use menus and navigation
• Learn to create pages, posts using text, images and videos
• Learn how to add a blog page and categorise your blog posts
• Learn how to create a simple contact form
• Learn how to use WordPress widgets
• Add your social media links to your website
• Add a shopping cart to your website and link to PayPal (if required)
• Learn the very basics of SEO and making your website search engine friendly
• Learn the Do’s and Don’ts of installing themes and plugins
• Learn about the basics of GDPR and privacy policies
• Learn best practices for responsive and mobile friendly design
• Learn the basics of security, maintenance and backing up your website
• How to link to Google Analytics so you can track your visitors 

If you would like to make your website live and available to the public, you can then go on to:

• Choose and connect your own domain name
• Create your own POP3 email addresses 

Our WordPress training courses are perfect for anyone who:

• Wants to create and maintain a website for themselves
• Wants to maintain a WordPress website they already own, but would like to know about the platform and how everything works
• Wants to learn a new skill and build a website for fun !

What you will need and what we provide:

• You will need to be able to use a computer and the Internet
• You will need to bring your own laptop.  PC, Mac or Chromebook is fine
• We will provide free wifi and power
• We will provide a training booklet for you to reference during and after the course
• Lunch is not included, but there is a cafe onsite serving fresh hot and cold food for you to purchase
• Car Parking is not provided, but there is on road parking within 5 minutes walk

What happens after the course?

If you would like to keep your website and put it live to the public, we will show you how to connect a domain name and provide the website hosting FREE for 6 months.  After this time, you can choose one of our hosting packages.

During this 6 months we will be happy to provide basic email support to answer any questions you may have, or if additional training is needed, we can arrange a bespoke package to suit your needs.

A typical course has the following format:

9.45am – Arrival for 10am start

11.00am – 10 min tea break

1.00pm – 45min lunch break

2.30pm – 10 min tea break

4.00pm – Finish, with time for any further questions or discussions.
